Artists’ Materials Expo: Artisan hosts a consumer art materials show biannually. State-of-the-field products are available with ongoing free demonstrations and experts on hand. Regional and local artists give workshops and lectures that are open to the public, making it an exceptional four day artists’ materials extravaganza.
Pastel Show: As part of Artisan’s relationship with the International Association of Pastel Societies, a medium-specific focus on pastels is the center of efforts for this alternate year biannual show. Included are workshops, lectures and demos. Manufacturers have booths and there are pastels galore.
Match Price Effort: Artisan will make every effort to match a competitor’s price on large orders to encourage local customers to buy locally. Bring in a print-out of the competitor’s page/offer. We will do our best.
Experienced Service: Artisan has a knowledgable staff with lots of product information and support. We like to be smart, helpful, and cheerful and want to take care of you now.
Support for Local Arts Organizations: Artisan advocates community involvement and buying locally. Support is given to community efforts in store postings and displays and is also provided through the artisan website in ARTe News, web links, and special bulletins.
Store Demos: The store demos are usually scheduled on Saturdays at the individual stores. Check our website for individual store times. Demos cover a wide variety of topics. Questions and discussion are encouraged and resource materials are available. Demos can be customized for special interest groups. Manufacturers also have their artist reps in the stores periodically to demonstrate product. Reservations are taken.
Workshops: Artisan sponsors workshops with individual artists by advertising, creating a flyer, posting materials lists and taking care of the business of attendee registration. Artists then conduct their workshops in a separate venue. The instructor is welcome to do a store demo to promote the workshop and bring their group to the store for a tour or specific product demo if they wish.
Art Classes: Artisan stores have had classes over the years and continue on demand. Currently, the Albuquerque store has a classroom. Class fees are charged and students meet regularly with an instructor.
Store Tours: Store Tours are given by store managers upon request for student groups. Advanced planning ensures the best experience. Let us know ahead so we can be ready.

Connection to Manufacturers as Resource: Artisan has good relationships with manufacturers. Customers are able to access the product information and support materials through a variety of mediums: printed, web, and personal.
Owner Professionalism: Paul Bell, Ernie Cavasos, Dennis Miller and Ron Whitmore are Artisan owners and professionals in the field of art materials and very much connected to the state of the art materials existing today in terms of quality, safety and durability. They are on good terms with manufacturers who have respect for positive business ethics and “you-are-only-as-good-as-your-word” style.
